Introduction
Get Off the Bus, Imposters! is a light-horror investigation game where you play as a night bus driver transporting passengers through a series of stops. Some passengers are secretly impostors. During each drive, watch the rearview mirror for strange behavior and subtle changes. Protect the normal passengers, identify the impostors, and survive until the final stop.
Game Loop
Talk
Before the bus departs, you are free to move around and talk to the passengers. If you believe a passenger is absolutely weird, kick them off the bus. If you believe certain passengers require special attention, have them move to seats closer to you so you can easily monitor their actions.
Progression of Anomaly
The passenger's abnormal behavior will become increasingly obvious; if it stays on the bus too long, it will start killing normal passengers!
Elegant System
Trial-and-error feedback is integrated into the gameplay. If an impostor stays on the bus too long, it turns red and slowly approaches the nearest normal passenger, signaling both danger and a confirmed impostor. Mistakes first cost normal passengers; the player is only truly endangered once impostors outnumber them.
Boarding
When the bus arrives at the station, it will stop automatically. Passengers will board the bus.
Drive & Observe
You can set off for the next stop whenever you’re ready. Driving is fully automated; you just need to time your glances in the rearview mirror carefully. After all, it's dangerous to get distracted while driving~
If you notice any obvious anomaly, try to identify the suspicious passenger and then remove them from the bus once it arrives at the next station!
The Hunt & Emergency Stop
When the impostors > normal passengers, the impostors will come after you! In this case, use the Emergency Stop to get out of danger.
Note that the opportunities for Emergency Stop are limited!
Design Features
Less UI & Button
I keep UI and controls to a minimum to preserve immersion. The interface is intentionally clean, and the entire game can be played with only WASD and the left mouse button.
